TWO PEOPLE INJURED.
CAR SPEEDS BETWEEN TRAM ajJd kerb. Another bad accident caused by a speeding motorist on Wednesday was reported to the police yesterday. Mr and Mrs James Alfred Jackson, of 13 Norfolk street, Papanui, left the City by the 10.30 p.m. tram, and alighted at Norman's road. Just as the tram was moving off, and before Mr and Mrs Jackson could gain the footpath, a motorcar was driven between the tram and the kerb at about 25 miles an hour. Both of the people were knocked down, but the motor-car did not stop. Another motor followed and gave chase, but apparently without success. Dr. Bates was called to attend Mr and Mrs Jackson, Yesterday it was found necessary to send Mr Jackson to the hospital. He is in a dazed condition, and suffering from concussion and abrasions. Late last night thero was no change in his condition. The pol'c'e are looking for the driver of the car.
