N.Z. LADIES' SWIMMING TOUR.

CHRISTCHURCH JCLUB HOLDS OUT. When the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association Council made it known tfhat it would require SO per cent, of the gross proceeds at each centre Waited by the New Zealand representative swimmers in their coming tour, the Christchnreh Club replied that it could not agree to the proposal, and therefore mado it impossible for the team to appear in Ohristcburch. The club offered to pay £lO to the Council, however. Tho basis was only a proposed one, and at a meeting of the Council last night it was ultimately decided tbat the Council accept 40 per cent, of the gate takings •at th? various Centres visited. Mr A. Mac Donald, Westland delegate, said that it was a pity to exclude Christchurch from tho itinerary, and ho moved thjt the terms of the Christchurch Swimming Club bo accepted, with tho provision that. If the gato proved to bo bigger than anticipated, the club pay m proportion. Upon the motion being put to the meeting, it was lost on the voices, and it was then decided to approach tho Chriatchurch Club to see if other arrangementa could be mkde. The following is the itinerary go far as it has been made:— Timaru, February 14th; Ashburton, Fcbrunry 15th; Carterton, February 19th; Qlsborne, February 26th and 28th; Palmerston North, March 4th; Feilding. March sthHawcra, March 10th; New Plymouth, March 12th; Te Awamutu, March 16th; Morrinsville, March 18th; Dargaville, March 23rd Thc dates February 10th and 17th, will be availablo for Cliristchurch in tho event of tatisfactory arrangements being made with the local club. The meeting decided to approve of tho arrangements in connexion with tho tour.
