HARPOONED A SHARK.
AUCKLAND MAN'S DARING FBAT. [TBB tVSSi Spaelsl Birrle*.] AUCKLAND, February 9. A thrilling capture of a 10ft shark took place on Wainui beach yesterday. Mr Charles Ferris entered the water up to his shoulders and fed stingray bait to sharks which were seen cruising in tho vicinity. Four of the monsters rushed to the bait, approaching quite close to Ferris, who harpooned the largest of them and then hastened ashore. The captured shark weighed 400ib.
