THE ROYAL VISIT.
BALL COMMITTEE MEETS. A meeting of the Citisens' Ball Committee, in connexion with the Royal visit was held at the City Council Chambers yesterday, Mr H. 6. Livingstone presiding over a good attendance. The report of the Accommodation and Fumishiug Committee was presented by Mr W. It. Lasoelles, who intimated that several alterations werepontcmplated in order to provide more dancing space Mr H. Hclmoro presented tho report ot the Decorations and Lighting Committee. Mr J. G. Vernon, reporting on behalf of tho Supper Committee, stated that satisfactory arrangements had been made with a local caterer for tho supply of supper. Mr 11. Wauchop reported that two orchestras had been engaged, and continuous musio would bo provided. The orchestras engaced were those of Miss M. Middleton and Mr Les Marslon. Considerable discussion took place regarding the number of tickets to bo sold, and it was eventually decided to restrict the number of tickets to 1600 sins'j tickets. The cost of the tickets to be 30s single, and £3 double. An executive was appointed to deal with all matters of urgency. The executive consisted of Messrs W. It. Lascelles, H. Helmorc. J. 0. Vernon, n Wauchop, H. G. Livingstone, and Cantnin K. J. Walker. Tho secretary, Mr W. E Leadjey, was instructed to write tBo New Brighton Trotting Club regarding insurance on tho furnishings used at the ball.
