AT BURNHAM.
A.S.C. IN CAMP. The Canterbury Uattalion of the Ist New Zealand Rifles broko camp at Burnhani yesterday, after haying been there for one week's traininuPreparations were going on nil day for the reception of the Southern DetK>t of the N.Z.A.S.C., and tho advance party was busily engaged in putting up tents and generally making for tho comfort of tho trainees. Tbo men went into camp last evening. Major R, A. Row is camp commandant, and Lieutenant E. W. Smith is in charge of the depot.
Thcra will be about 200 men in camp for the week, and fifty per cent, of the will be trained in riding and driving, while tho balance will be trained in infantry work, including musketry, and Lewis gun work. The whole depot will be put through physical training, and about twenty men will be trained solely in anti-aircraft Lewis gun work. There will bo a special train to Burnhair, on Sunday, which is visitors' day, and on the loth mstnnt tho Hoys' High School Cadets will go into camp.
