Canterbury Championship. The Canterbury Championship for lt-looters will take place on .Saturday week, when, in addition to the Sanders Cup representatives, other local Mfootcrs and the RcdcliiTs boat Secret, will compete. There is also a probability of at least one other 1-Mooter being sent down from Wellington to compete. Afte r the civic reception at Lyt tclton to-morrow night, the New Zealand Yachting Conference will meet to arrange final details for the contest. The Harbourmaster (Captain T. •"• Hunter! lias chartered two courses. each a tri-angular and a windward and 1 ward, for the Sanders Cup contest, and the Corn well Cup contest. The fourteen footer, Tcggy, Wellington's representative in tlic Sanders Memorial Yachting Cup contest, which commences at Lyltelton on Saturday, will be shipped south by the Maori to-morrow night. Her crew, comprising A. Sterling (skipper), and X. Itountree, Ifurlaud, Berg, and Honntrec, will accompany the boat to Lyttelton, and the Cornwell Cup crew, B, Brecn and Mnrland, will go down on the same Btcamcr. The last two will be billeted at Lyttelton. The 12ft (iin Takapuna class boat, in which they will race for tho Cornwell Cup, will be supplied to them there.

The Wellington Association's delegates to the Dominion Conference, ■which meets on Friday nigljt to discuss matters in connexion with the conduct of the Sanders Cup contest, are Messrs J. Moffat and U. Groves. They have been instructed to support a remit that only true Rona type boats should be eligible for future contests. A number of well-known local enthusiasts have announced their intention of going south to view the two contests.
