Koche, Patrick Koche, Robert Koche, Mrs F. Koche, Miss O'Shca, Miss I.iddle, and Master Liddle, were drowned. The other occupants of the boat hung to a tree in the water until rescued. The Condamine river tragedy was due to the boat in which were the party, numbering eleven, striking, a snag while proceeding down tho river with the current travelling at n swift pace. It is a miracle that any were saved owing to the current. The four survivors managed to reach a tree, and hung to that ti.i a rowing boat, which had to be carried ten miles by tractor, arrived and rescued them.
