THE CHRISTMAS NUMBER OF "THE WEEKLY PRESS." SOME AMERICAN APPRECIATIONS. . When "New Zealand Illustrated" was published in October last, Messrs Carrick Wedderspoon, Ltd., Engineers and Merchants of Christchurcli," forwarded several ccpies to friends abroad. Following are somo letters received by a recent mail, marking appreciation of tli3 production: l-'rom Mr A. B. Edes, manager Foreign Trade Department, Ohio Brass Co., Mansfield, Ohio: Dear Carrick,—l am very much obliged indeed for the copy of the local Christmas number of "The Weekly Press," which arrived a short time ago, and which has been examined with a good deal cf interest, not only by myself but by other O.IJ. people here, and I have turned tho copy over to our advertising department in the hope thitt they might bo able to mako uso of some of the pictures in some way. You certainly have a most beautiful country, and wo think "The Weekly Press" is to be congratulated for their initiative in getting up such a splendid edition, tho paper is good, the pictures aro fine, and altogether tho general get-up is highly creditable.

That publication is a wonderful one, and shows up tho scenes of beauty and interest in New Zealand in a way to niako ono very keen to want to get there and actually gaze upon them. I shall take tho paper out home with mo because I know what a pleasuro it will lie to Mrs Marsh to see it.
