CHECKING CARELESS DRIVING. MR JUSTICE HERDMAN'S REMARKS. [THE PBEB3 Special Service.] AUCKLAND, February 8. John O'Himloii was yesterday found guilty in tho Supremo Court of negligeneo in a small degree when he collided, while- driving a car, with a motor bus. A passenger in tho car received fatal injuries. To-day O'Hanlou was fined £25 by Mr Justice Hcrdman. "There is no doubt you were, guilty of neglect," said his Honour, "and these eases are happening so frequently that barely a criminal session goes by without such a ease- being set down for trial. It is cssentinl Hint I mark in. some degree my disapproval of young men speeding and failing to handlo their cars with care. You will be fined £2u and costs. Your license will be cancelled, and you will bo disqualified! from obtaining another for two years. Six months were allowed in which to pay, and default; was fixed at three month's imprisonment.
