SPECIAL CLASS.
EAST CHRISTCHURCH SCHOOL,
Under the Department's new system a special class for backward children has been started at tlio East Christchurch School. The class will consist of about olghteen pupils, who nro above seven years of age, from the Richmond, JCinwood, Wattham, and East Christchurch Schools. »
Yesterday was a busy day for those conccrnod, in making preparations for the class, which will bo in full swing to-day. It is for children who need special help with their work, and in many eases this has been found necessary on account of sickness. Miss It. Clark, who has rocently returned from Wellington, will have charge of tho children. They will concentrate on hand work, and the minimum of thooretical work will bu done. With this aim in view, earpontry and weaving tools havo been supplied.
