There were stormy scenes in the Reichstag before the Government received a vote of confidence. The Socialist, Herr Landsberg, attacked the Minister for the Interior, Df. von Kcudell, whom he accused of co-operat-ing with Monarchist "putsches" against Ebert's Government. Dr. von Keudell attempted to defend himself amidst uproar, Until Dr. Marx promised that f Government would investigate the charges. The Beichstag then adjourned for an hour, during which tinie the Centre Party decided to support the Government on the assumption that thd charge* would be dispr&ved. A Communist motion in favour of Germany quitting the League of Natibns 'was defeated by $64 votes to 46.
