FATAL FALL.
CHILD INJURED WHILE PLAYING [THE rftßßfl Apcelsl tttrvlet.] DUNfiDIN, February 6. A child named Lina Sophia Pricier, aged four years and nine mouth;, waS playing in her parents' yard, at 176 Malvern street, Woodhaugh, yesterday, about 3.40 p.m. when suddenly she ran screaming to her mother complaining of pains in the stomach. The mother immediately placed her in a hot bath and Dr. Ronald Fulton was called. The doctor arrived about 4.50. He found that the child had been dead from half an hour to an hour, artificial respiration being tried without (success. The inquest was held at the parents' residence this morning, Mr .1. R.. BaN tholomew sitting as Coroner. The evidence showed (hat the child had been playing by itself in the yard, and the only suggestion was that (he child bad fallen over an old chair in the yard, the medical evidence disclosing that the child hnd had a fall. A verdict was returned that the child died from internal injuries Caused hv an accidental fall.
