FRUITGROWERS.
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. i —— A meeting of tho Canterbury Fruitgrowers' Association was held on Saturday night, Air E. Freeman presiding. A letter was received from the Hon, Mr Hawkon, Minister for Agriculture, stating that during his next visit to Christchurch, he would be glad to arrange to meet a deputation from tho Association respecting tho importation of tomatoes during November and December. He would adviso tho Association as soon'ns possible when the visit would bo made. At tho conclusion of the business of tho meeting Mr L. Payntcr, Government Orchard Instructor, gave an ad dress on tho fruit prospects for the coming season. It was decided to hold the Association's annual picnic at the Papainii Do main on April 2nd.
