SHIRLEY SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
At Uio monthly meeting of the Shirley School Committee the following members wore present:—Messrs Thompson, Hunt. Stanley, Salt, Burson, Anderson and Clothier, and Mrs McKay. A letter outlining the scheme and cost of equipping ana maintaining a dental elinio was read and approved. Leavij of abscneo for nine months was granted Miss Harvey for a trip to England. Hie final arrangements for tho school picnic to Ashburton on February 11th were made. It was decided to hold the championship swimming races at' tho picnic for boys and girls. It was reported that the sand-pit ior infante had been laid down. Tho Visiting Commit too appointed for tha ensuing month wero Messrs Burson anJ Clothier.
