NEW CLUBHOUSE AT SHIRLEY. TO COST £IO,OOO. A special general meeting of the Chriatcburch Golf Club was held yesterday to consider tenders for the clubhouse at Shirley, and other buildings. Mr H. W. Mearcs presided over a large attendance of members. The secretary (Mr Denys Hoare) reported that nine tenders had been received, that of P. Graham and Sou having been recommended by both the architect and the committee. The tender. allowing for a £2OO margin, was for £BIOO, so the actual cost would probably be £7900. With the building of the green-keeper's cottage and the laying out of the grounds and furnishing of the clubhouse, the expenditure would absorb the rest of £IO,OOO. The chairman moved that the report be accepted and the committee empowered to carry out the building and improvement scheme suggested, but modified as the committee considered desirable, and that the committee be empowered to make the necessary arrangements for raising the £IO,OOO required. This resolution wog adopted.
