trr.r.ss association telegram.) WELLINGTON, February 3. Donald Clark, a labourer, aged 'JI, was charged before Mr E. Page, S.M., with the theft of £lo 10s, the properly of a widow, Elizabeth Connor. The poliuo stated that accused was in the. habit of visiting at complainant's lionse, and on u da.v in December, duriiif the temporary absence of the complainant, he found the key to a trunk, which ho opened, taking tho money mentioned. The theft was only discovered yesterday, but accused was very frank. He was out of work, and had used the money for household expenses-.- ■- He was- sentenced to probation for 12 months and ordered to make restitution at tho rate of 10s a week.
