NIGHT BURGLARY.
* KIOSK AT GARDENS. Some time during Saturday night the tea kiosk in the Botanio Gardens was broken into and cash and cigarettes were stolen. When the proprietor, Mr H. Cresswell, visited the luosk early on Sunday morning, he found that the back door had been forced. The petty cash box was on the floor, and had been rifled of its contents, consisting of about two pounds. A quantity of matches was strewn over the floor, showing that a thorough soarch, of the premises had been made. The gates of the Gardens are locked at sundown, but it is a comparatively simple matter to scale them, and if that mode of ingress is found unsuitable there is the river which provides entrance by boift. No damage was done to tho kioßk beyond the smashing of the back door look, but all the cigarettes in the place were taken, together with a large quantity' of confectionery. The kiosk has received the attentions of thieves, on previous occasions.-
