SUPPORT FOR OLYMPIC COUNCIL ' (MIESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, January 17. The necessity for supporting the Olympic Council in its endeavour to have the Dominion adequately represented at the Olympic Games is fully realised'by the Council of tho New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. This fact was demonstrated this evening when tlio Council rejected a proposition, emanating from the Canterbury Centre, which aimed at the deletion of (ho clause in the rules of the Association, definitely providing for an annual registration fee of Is.per competitor to bo allotted to the Olympic Council for its general purposes. After considerable discussion, in which other delegates considered the Council should support the Olympic Council, the motion was lost. Accordingly, the rulo will stand as at present.

The levy of one shilling per member paid by the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association to the Olympic Games Council was taken exception to by the Canterbury Centre at the meeting of the Now Zealand Council. The Canterbury Centre, through its delegate, moved a resolution that the rulo providing for the payment of the'levy be deleted, but after discussion the proposition was defeated.

ROSE AND LAMB. (PKESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) NAPIER, January 17. Two champions, 11. W. Lamb, tho .Australian amateur champion cyclist, and Randolph Rose, of Jfasterton, were competitors at the Napier Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club's meeting to -night. Both put up very fine performances, Lamb showing great speed, and going right away from the ficlu. won the mile and tho mile and a half mile cycle handicaps. Rose, conceding starts up to 240 yds in tho mile handicap, ran second to Henderson (170 yds), Rose's timo being 4min 29sec. He won tho half-mile handicap easily from scratch, giving away 60yds.
