The entry of. a rat oil the stage near* ly spoiled the second act of the performace of "The Fake" by the Maurice Moscovitch Company jn the Theatre Boyal on Saturday night. The little creature suddenly-appeared at the side of the stage, and .was-greeted by the audience with a' pronounced titter, wW<ch grew louder &i the intruder scuttled to-ihe back, Where it disappeared, liofrever, it showed that it' Was not in the least affected by Stage fright for it again made its entry and retraced its Steps to the Side of the stage, mat ing a leisurely exit, to the aceompaaimeat of further partially suppressed laughter. The rodent must hnvfr been trying to the performers before the footlights at the time, as they had no idea what was causing the amusemeut, especially as the scene in which-they were then acting was not a comedy > One.
