*_ 1926 ALL BLACKS. MATCH AT AUCKLAND. (rKESS AS3OCUTION IELIGBAIt.) AUCKLAND, Juno 21. It is practically certain that tho All Blacks will bo seen in action against tho Auckland representatives after returning from New South Walos, The AH Blacks will leave Sydney on July 30th, and should reach Auckland on August 3rd. It is hoped to arrange tho match against Auckland for Wednesday, August 4th. The Auckland Kugby Union communicated with the New Zealand Rugby Union on Saturday evening, and received a detinito assurance that the match would talfo place if, as is expected, tho steamor arrangements suit. MAORI ADVISORY BOARD. "HAPHAZARD METHODS" CRITICISED, (rREOS ASSOCIATION TELSG3AM.) WELLINGTON, Juno 21. In reference to a telegram from Gisborne, Mr S. S. Dean, chairman of the New Zealand Union, eaid that the statement that the Union had appointed the selectors for tho Maori team was incorrect, Mr Dean commented rather severely on the apathy and inattention of tho Maori officials who never trouble to reply to letters. Mr Deau said that ho had gone to Levin to attend a meeting of the Maori Advisory Board, and when he got there he found no mooting and that no arrangements had ever been made for it. Tho secretary was then changed, but tho position was most unsatisfactory and had matters been left with the Maoris' Advisory Board, with its haphazard and unbusinesslike methods, tho tour would never have come off at all. "Tho New Zealand Rugby Union hopes that tho remark that the tour will not cost it anything will prove correct, but it is not so sanguine as the promoters about it, and in any case the Board should be deeply indebted to tho New Zealand Union for the excellent arrangements made for tho tour by it and by Mr Wray, its representative in London," MAORI TRIALS. TEAMS FOR TO-MORROW, (PJWSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) PALMERSTON NORTH, June.SJ. Tho selectors (Messrs W. B, Parata, A. Takarangl, and M, Winiata) mot to-night to choose the North and South Maori teams to p>y in the final try-out at Palmerston on Wednesday. After this match, the selectors will make tho final choice of 38 players to tour England and Prance. Although the To Mori Roue Bowl is »t stake, the teams, as tinder, ore not truly representative of tbo North and South Islands, but havo been chosen rather with ail idea of giving all players an opportunity of gaining a P'aco in the touring toam. In explanation of tho absence of some of tho better-known players, it may bo mentioned that they havo already played in previous trials in either tho North or South Islands, and the selectors therefore have a lino on their strength.
