TIMARU. Social and Personal. Mr and Mrs Geo. Murray Aynsley, and Miss Rose Gerard, who were in Tiruaru, have returned to Christchurch. Mrs Coles (Christchurch) arrived r'rom Dunedin yesterday, ami is staying with Mrs J. Moody (Te Weka street). Mr and Mrs E. A. Collins, who were with Mrs Herbert Holgate (Biclwill street), have gone back to Ash burton. ' Mr and Mrs Brodie ('Christchurch), who were in Timaru, have motored ro Dunedin. 3lrs J. Fleming, nee Sister Tk-nouf, late of the Tiruaru Hospital, is the guest of Mrs R. Orwin (Elizabeth street). Mrs Crawshaw and Miss Johnston (Christchurch), who were at the Hermitage, left yesterday t'or Pembroke and the Southern Lake?.
Miss Tish Watson (Invereargill), who was the guest of Miss Alice McLaren (Seddon street), went to Mayfield yesterday on a visit to Mrs E. Gillies. Mr and Mrs James Grant (Greys Hills) returned from Dunedin yesterday, and are with Mrs A. Grant (Waiiti road). Mr and Mrs John Moody and the Misses Moody (Te Weka street) have returned from their station in Southland. Mrs Geo. Hart (Wai-iii road) returned from Dunedin yesterday, accompanied by Mrs Marshall (Christchurch), who is now her guest. Messrs It. T. 11. Hac and W. Koch returned from Dunedin yesterday. Lieut-Commander Graham-Watson (H.M.S. Dunedin), and Mrs GrahamWatson, who were tbe guests of Mrs W. T. Ritchie (Gleniti), have gone north. Miss Bromley Cocks (Christchurch) is the guest of Mrs W. H. Helmore (Waiiti road). Miss Bowcii (Christchurch), who was also there, is row staying at St. Mary's vicarage, with Mrs J. A. Julius. Supreme Court. At the Supreme Court yesterday, his Honour Mr Justice Adams heard au originating summons regarding a deed of settlement, dated February 26th, IS7O, between Henry Cain, in the first part, Jane Cain in the second part, and Frederick Le Creu and Frances N. Stubba in tho third part. The plaintiff in the hearing was Miles J. Knubley, solicitor, of Timaru, one of the trustees of the deed, and the defendants were Jane Ellis Collins, of Urenui (widow), Wra. E. H. Newton, of New Plymouth (labourer), Lewis G. Newton, of Urenui (farmer), and Isabella Pattison, of Auckland (spinster). Mr W. D. Campbell, with him Mr L. C. Andrew, appeared for plaintiff. .Mr L. E. Finch represented Jane E. Collins, Mr J. P. Steven represented L. G. Newton, W. E. Newton, and I. Pattison; and Mr 11. W. Walton represented the Public Trustee as the personal representative of Kate E. Hall, deceased. The day was devoted to hearing legal argument and at a late hour in the afternoon, the Court was adjourned until this morning.
