ANNUAL MEETING. -Mr A. F. Carey, president, occupied the chair ;it the fiftieth annua] meeting of the Young Men's Christian Association. Over forty members were present. The annual report dealt in the following terms with the work for the twelve months ended February 23th, 11)20: •'This survey does not include the period of the finance and membership campaign. Just priqr to this the membership was at its lowest point, but although the total is less than usual, it may be said' to be largely an active membership. After pruning the files of all unhnancial members, the analysis is as follows:—Boys under 18 years, 202; younger men, 18 to 21, 112; men, over 21, 298; honorary and sustaining, S3; total, 73G. A summary of activities in the physical department during the year is as follows:—Attendances registered at classes, 11,124; at games and tournaments, 2246; in swimming pool, 0976; at socials and display, 75C. "In the Boys' Gordon Hall section recreational games and exercises were carried on extensively. In the gymnasium the total attendances were 2170. Four teams played in the cricket competitions, and athletics were held at Hospital corner. A swimming carnival in the Topid Baths attracted f)0 entries. Owing to the attitude of City senior clubs, there were no boys' teams playing Bugby. Championships in basketball and group games were held in the gymnasium.

Work in Military Camps. 'The Y.M.C.A. has rendered service for the XCQ Territorials and 2000 Cutlets who have gone through training in the military camps. The work of om camp secretary, 11 r \V. T. Wilson, has been highly appreciated by those in training, as well as by the chaplains and the camp officials. Major-General Young, hcfoiv leaving Christchnrch reci'iit.ly to take command, of the New Zealand Forces, wrote :—'l would like to take this opportunity to thank your staff in Christchnrch for the great help thc.v have given mo in the Southern Command.' On special occasions the need for this service has l>een such as to call for the help of either members of the staff. 'While we do not hold any Lrief for military training, we feel that as Ions: as the youth of New Zealand must ;io into camp, the Y.M.C.A. should go with them. •'N'o less a sum than £;5200 was given or promised to our funds ns the result of the financial campaign " The balance-sheet disclosed that during thn rear the expenditure exceeded th<' receipts by £1427 4s 3d. The report and balance-sheet were adopted.

Election of Officers. The election of officers resulted as inflows :—Directors. Messrs AV. (.loss, ,]. "W. Hillary, A. R. Jordan. A. M. AVest, S. Wilkinson (re-elected) and K D. .lolmson; senior cabinet, Messrs A. A. G. IVed, D. 1). C. T. Gorrie, and X. K. A. Lifferton. Votes of thanks wore passed to the Ladies' Auxiliary, honorary auditors, the Press, campaign helpers, and the directors. The secretary (Mr R. A. Kenner) notified members that next Sunday would be celebrated as Mothers' Day. Appreciation of the services of Mr Kcincr suid staff was expressed by Mr u. C.oss, and tbev were accorded a vote of thanks by acclamation.
