NEW BRIGHTON FIRES.
♦ — : BUNGALOW ANI) CONTENTS ' DESTROYED. ' " • ; Shortly before {» a.is. yesterday a five-roomed bungalow, situated 173 Richmond terrace, New Brighton, was destroyed by fir*. The house was owned by Mr D. McCracken and occupied by Mr and Mrs Park and their four children. The outbreak, which started in the rear portion of the house, was discovered by Mr Park, who happened to be awake at the tijnq, &nd he aroused the other occupants. Practically the whole of the contents was lost, tfhe Brigade responded to the alarm, but Was unable to do moye than prevent the fire spreading to the adjoining houses, The amounts of the insurances were not available yesterday. At 11,25 p.m. yesterday the Brigade was summoned to Palmer's road, North New Brighton, vrhere an outbreak of fire in some scrub was suppressed before any damage had been done.
