AVON CLUB'S SMOKE CONCERT. On Saturday night the Avon Rowing Club held its annual smoke concert in the club's rooms, Sir C. James presiding. When congratulating the club on its year's work, the chairman impressed upon the 200 men present to keep, fit right up till the last regatta. He was pleased that the rivercleaning scheme had been put into operation. The chairman also congratulated £.. Heatfey on winning the Thacker Shield at Akaroa for the first time. Trophies won during the season were presented to J.
