THE NOMINATIONS. , Nominations.of candidates for certain seats on the Lyttelton Harbour Board closed, yesterday. , > • For the. combined district of Riccarton Borough' 1 ' and v Waimairi •'« County there:were two nominations for the one vacancy. Those nominated- were Messrs W. J. Walter, the Bitting member, who is also chairman of- the Board, and Mr J.' Seymour, who has been chaifman of the .Waimairi County Council for some time.' An election will be necessary. For the two seats for the combined district consisting of th& counties of Paparua, Tawera, Malvern, ;i Springs, ( Ellesmere, Hal&well, Heathcote, and! Selwyn only the required number was nominated —Messrs W. 'K: McAlpine 'and James Storry, the sitting members —who' will be announced as elected. Two members are to be elected to represent the combined district of Ashburton County and borough; and one member for the combined counties of Cheviot, Amuri, Waipara, Kowai, and Ashley, and < the Amberley town • district.
