ASHBURTON CLUB. (OPZCUL TO "not PB>8&") , ASHBUBTON, April 37, The adjourned annual mefiting of the Ashburton Football Sub-Association waa held last evening, when Mr .J. Shaw presided, in tlie absence of the president (Mr A, AflWa). Nine other membera were present. The secretary (Mr J. 8. Wilson) explained that he had been unable to attend the first meeting last week. The annual report stated that, though the year had been fairly successful, it waa evident that players would have to give more attention to practice. The finances were' hot in a very healthy state, and the season wbujd commence with liabilities of about £X The report and balance-sheet were adopted. In reply to a quostipn, the secretary stated that he had received a letter .from tbe Sports Association Mking who had' shifted the Rugby posts on No, 2, ground. As he knew nothing of the matter; ne had not replied. The Association then notified that unless a reply were received or 4 delegate attended its meeting, drastic action would b<> taken. He did got like the tone of the letter, which he regarded as Somewhat. high banded. It waß useless for a. Soccer delegate to attend a Sports Association meeting, as all the other delegates, with the exception of those from the hockey players, were pro-Rugby, and there waa no hope of doing anything against them. He thought an application to the Do jjiaip Bcajtf wpuja receive a sympathetic beating.
