GIPSY SMITH EVANGELISTIC CAMPAIGN.

Some «ixfjy minister* and laymen representative of ike City Churches met on Monday evening in the Y.M.C.A. Concert Hall to discuss the forthcoming Christchurch Gipsy Smith Mission. Rev. £. D. Patchott, president of the Ministers' Association, was voted to tho chair; Rev. 8. J/ Werren wu appointed secretary. Correspondence was received from the New Zealand Committee ana from Gipsy Smith himself outlining the proposed campaign in detail and recommending a scheme of local organisation. After learning the conditions, all present decided unanimously to constitute themselves into the "Christolmrsb Gipsy Smith Campaign Committee." The following committees were set up:—Publicity, Musical, Hall, Personal Workers, and Finance, othere to be set up later. Some discussion took placo regarding the most suitablo' building for the mission. It wag decided that steps be taken to secure, if possible, King Edward Barracks. Owing to the date set down for the mission In Christchurch clashing with Carnival Week, an endeavour is boiug. made to arrange an exchange of dates with either Wellington or Dunedin.
