RETURNED SOLDIERS' SOCIAL.
The pleasant week-end socials under the auspices of the Returned Soldiers' Association are becoming increasingly popular, as was shown on Saturday night, 'when between seventy and eighty couples spent an enjoyable time in the Jellicoe Hall, which was tastefully decorated for the occasion. A varied programme of popular and appropriate music was provided by. Willy ams's Grand Band. An excellent sit-down supper was served under the supervision of the Ladies' Committee, consisting of Mesdames H. Fleck, J. S. Kelly, and B. Bean. The general arrangements were under the oontrol ot the Dance Committee, comprising Messrs G. W. Lloyd, H. Fleck, G. Haydon, G. Hoffman, and G. H. Thomas. Next Saturday night, the fourth o( the present session, will be a lons* night, dancing to be continued till midnight. A number of novelty dance 3 will be included on the programme.
