A PARISH'S WELCOME.

A very pleasant function, which took the form of a'social and dance, took plac« in St. John's Parish Hall on Thursday night last, the occasion being a welcome to the parish to Mrs Hanby. There were about two hundred parishionesr present. When Mrs Hanby arrived at the hall, she was met by the cheering Sunday School children, who presented her with a basket of-violets. Mrs Hanby was later presented with a bouquet of roses by litlte Vera Daniel, on behalf of tho parishioners. After supper, Mr Liugard, a member of the vestry, in addressing the parishioners, said how very glad they all were to welcome back the. Rev. H. 0. Hanby,, and especially Mrs Hanby, a3 a new parishioner. It was pleasing to hear that from reports of Mrs Hanby she would no doubt prove herself to be a good church worker. Mr and Mrs Hanby were then asked to accept as a token of esteem from the parishioners of Woolston a case of cutlery, and an afternoon tea set, and also presents from the Boys' Bible Class and Boy Scouts, after which followed the.singing of "For They Are ; Jolly G?od Fellows," and three hearty cheers, i
