TO TH» BSITOB or "thb ium." Sir,—We who are getting on in years would, I am sure, pass you a vote of thanks for the words of encouragement you gave us in your article on th© above. Turning to the "K." corner, though, it is enough to give us oldsters the ague to read the list of problems we are bequeathing to the oncoming generation. But we had ours. I well remember the shock we got when women changed over from white cotton to black stockings. We soon got used to that, and many other things, and so it will be always. The art in growing old and keeping young is to keep in sympathy with youag ideas and not allow oneself to become wedded to the pasi. There are exceptions, of course, as in th« Royal and Ancient game. But even golf is no longer played with a "gutty."—l am, eto.. 6 PETEB TBOLOVE.
