SUNDAY FOOTBALL.
—4 FARM WORKERS' HALF-HOLIDAY (SPZCIAX TO "TH® PBZSS.") WELLINGTON, April 23. At a meeting of the Agricultural and Pastoral AVorkers' Association, held in Palmerston North, it was decided to bring before all the Ministers and members of the House of Parliament the necessity of giving farm workers a compulsory half-holiday weekly, so that they will not, as they do at present, have to their football matches on a Sunday. , . . \ In one district, it is said, there was a church service held trom 2 to 3 p.m., and then some of the congregation adjourned to a paddock where a football match was to b<j played at 3.30 p.m. Asked why they did not play during the week, the workers replied that Sunday afternoon was the only time they got off work. The Farm AA : orkers' Association thanks all the Ministers and members who have promised to support the half-holiday Bill when it is brought up on tho floor of the House of Parliainent.
