MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING.

ELLESMERE ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the 15/llfsmcrc Miniature Hide Association was held at Doyleston, when delegates wcro present from the Sedgcmeic-Lakcsidc, Southbridge, Jiillincby, Doyleston, and Leeston Clubs. The Lcestou and Kilhnchy Clubs were granted affiliation. The secretary, Mr 1). llayeß, presented a report stating that tbo Association had been formed during the early part of last season, and had had a successful year. The. hakesulc-tieclgetiiure Club had won both the ■v and 13 grade competitions, thereby becoming the lir3t holders ot the shields, and the Southbridge Club had been runners-up ill each case. Tho individual championship had been won by W. J. Mclivedy, of Boutlibriugo Club, who had become tho first holder of the HauimontJ and Turner Challenge Cup, and had received a gold medal given by the Association. It wo 4 agreed that competition teams should consist of ten shootsrs, the performances of the best eight only to count. It was decided to open the first and second grade competitions on Tuesday, May 11th, and to receive entries up till Tuesday, May 4th. The suggestion to start & third grade competition was held in abeyance for the present. , , , . With regard to the grading of shooters, it was agreed that ajiy member of a second grade team who bhot in more than two first grade matches .should automatically become a first giwde shooter. A first grade ehooter who wished to shoot for a second grade' team must first be reinstated as a. second grade shooter. The president and secretary were appointed a controlling committee to deal with applications for reinstatement. , . The draw of matches will be prepared at a meeting on May 4th.
