Tha montb.lv meeting c-f the .Rechabite Council, held it the Y.M.C.A., vras attended by. IB delegates, the chair being occupied bv the Provincial Chief. Bu!«r, Bro. John Smith. D.D.C.B. Bro. A. Martin and the District Levile, Bro. C. H. Bascard, who had attended a meeting of the Central Executive at Wellington, presented a report. of the business transacted. Announcement was made that a concert party from Chriatchurch trould five an entertainment 'at Aahburton on April 26th to which the members of the Council VeTe cordially invited. A committee was authorised to wait' upon the Band of Hope EkecutWe next week to discuss the furtherance of temperance principles amongst young people,' It was resolved to approve of a- proposal to hold social gatherings during the "winter months, the arrangements to be. carried out by the executive.
