CYCLING.
TEN-MILE ROAD RACE. During the week-end, the firm of Adams, Ltd., Motor Importers, High street, held a very successful 10-mile roe/1 race at Mairehau. From a field of 30 atarters, L. F. Harvey (12min), who led for two laps, appeared to be a very likely winner, but he was beaten into second place by CJ Allen, a very promising young rider, who rode a. splendid unpaced race. A. Woodham also rode a good race, but was unfortunate in being beaten for third place by C. Poore, who came up with * late sprint. The first place for fastest time was fought out by S. C. Forrester and F. Flanagan, the former prevailing by half a wheel in a very epirited finish. The following are the plac-ing»:-C. Allen (tain) 1, L. Harvey (12min) 2 C Poors (7min) 3. A. Woodham, S.
