DAIRY CONTROL.
OPPOSITION IN MANAWATU. (PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.) PALMERSTON N., March 9. Strenuous and almost undivided opposition of the enforcement of absolute control of dairy produce on August Ist was voiced at a meeting of some 40 directors and suppliers representing 24 dairy factories in. the Manawatu district, which was addressed to-day ,by Mr L. J. Gardiner (organising secretary of the Free Marketing League), Mr J. Hine (Taranaki), Mr A. Nicol (Taikitahuna); Mr J. A. Nash, M.P., and others. At the conclusion a motion, moved by Mr P. Dixon (Makowhai) was carried with two dissentient voices: "That this meeting considers the time inopportune for the taking by, the Dairy Board of Compulsory Control."
