OPERATIC SOCIETY.

"FLORADORA" In choosing the cast for the forthcoming production of "Floradora" the committee of the Christchurch Amateur Operatic Society had a severe task set them. The talent displayed by aspirants for the parts was a revelation, and music, lovers and those who enjoy he light "operas will be well satisfied with the principals. The Society has always aimed at a high standard, and with this in view the Casting Committee, which included the producer, Mr Harison Cook, feel sure that the forthcoming production will eclipse any of the previous operas. Again, with the chorus, the same high standard is maintained. The ballets are being specially trained by Miss Iris Montgomery. The rehearsals are now in full swing. • Much of the hard ground work has been mastered, and reflects great credit on those concerned. The following principals have been selected:— Cyrus W. Gilfain, Mr Alan W. Brown; Frank Abcrcoed. Mr Bernard Rennell; Leandro, Mr J. J. Hall; Captain Arthur Donegal, Mr P. Hale; Anthony Tweedlepunch, Mr A. Leslie; Dolores, Miss Edna Donaldson; Angela Gilfain, Miss Madge Wilson; Lady Holyrood, Miss Agnes Richardson.
