FIRE AT NEW PLYMOUTH.

. SOFT GOODS STOCK RUINED. (press association telegram.) v NEW PLYMOUTH, March 8. A fire caused structural damage and almost entirely ruined the stock of the' •New Plymouth Soft Goods Co. at six o 'clock this evening. The origin of the fire is a mystery, as tlie premises had been closed only a short and everything appeared safe when they were locked up. Three leads of hose extinguished the fire in about twenty minutes. ■ The Company carries a stock of ladies', wear, the flimsiness of which made it highly inflammable. 'The building, which was saved from total destruction by 'the concrete and brick walls; was owned by G. E. Colson, and insured in the South British Office for £I2OO. The insurances on the stock are not available.
