DAMAGES CLAIMED.

AN UNUSUAL CASE. (by cable—press association— copyright.) (Australian and n.z. cablb association.) LONDON, March 6. Mr Raymond, the proprietor of the "Imperial Food Journal," brought an action in the High Court claiming damages against the New Zealand Cooperative Dairy Company and Mr Wright, its European agent, for allegedly procuring the withdrawal of two advertisements. Plaintiff's counsel, in opening, said that Wright took exception to a statement in an article in the "Journal" saying that his Company got a premium of 2s per cwt cun butter. He threatened to cause the withdrawal of advertisements of two firms selling butter and they subsequently were withdrawn. Mr Raymond, in giving evidence, said he believed from information he had obtained that the advantage of the 2s premium had not accrued to the butter producers. The hearing was adjourned.
