SELWYN. The monthly meeting of the Selwyn County Council wbb held lost ■week. There . >were present: Mr F. J. Andrew (chairman), and Councillors W. Gilmour, T.- E. Pearson, G. Hall, AV. Stone, T. D. Jarman, G. Hight, B. H. Johnston, and N. J. Brown. < The Minister for Lnbour forwarded a list of closing days for the weekly statutory halfholiday,, Thursday being the day for the Selwyn County. . Messrs P. Stephens, A. 3. Harris, and H. A. Brown were granted permission to erect kerbside petrol pumps under certain conditions. Mr F. S. .Barrett wrote, asking for the water-table to be cleared near his premises. Granted. , , ~ . Mr W. 0. Gray applied to have the road frontage to his motor garage levelled and shingled.—This was agreed to. . Mr T. Gill's tenders for shingling Steventon road, Valley road, Macintosh, and MoKie's roads were accepted. - It was decided to call tondera for shingling the upper end of Terrace road«.
