ENDOWMENT FUND TRUSTEES. (*ROH OUR OWH CORRESPONDENT.) ' LONDON, January 26. Preliminary steps 'towards the estab-' lishment of the Endowment; Fund of £5,000,000, which it is the intention of the Government, in conjunction with the Dominion Governments, to set up for the permanent maintenance, of the war cemeteries, have been completed.; The Imperial War Graves Commission announced that they have appointed the following trustees of the fund: — General Sir Herbert Lawrence, managing partner of Messrs Glyh, Mills and Co., the bankers, and a member of the Coal Commission. lie served in France during the war, and was Chief of the Staff at General, Headquarters from 1918. ■ '■. ■ ' Mr E. The £5,000,000 will, it is understood, be provided 'by contributions from the various countries of the Empire, in proportion to the number of graves of their dead. It is to be used for the purpose of maintenance only, and the funds still required for constructional work will be supplied by annual grants.
