MAORI BOY DROWNED.
FALL FROM PORT LEVY JETTY
Tuhiiru Tregorthen, a Maori boy aged eleven years, was drowned at Port Levy yesterday afternoon. He was playing on the jetty when he fell into the water. A boy who was in a punt nearby attempted to rescue the drowning lad, but without avail. Later several men tried to pick up the body, and eventually it was recovered by E. Tregertben, the deceased's brother, after an immersion of ten minutes. The body , was taken t-o Lytt-c-Iton, where it wasi j examined by I)r. Vpham. Deceased's j homo was at Kaiapoi.
