BOWLING.

RINK CHAMPIONSHIPS. DOMINION TOURNEY. (FBESS ASSOCIATION TELEOBAM.) DUNEDIN, January 15. The Dominion tournament rink championships were continued to-day, when the fifth and sixth rounds wero completed. Players had to contend with a fairly strong wind, and a sharp shower fell during the afternoon, but play went on uninterrupted, and finished at the scheduled time.

One of the most remarkable shots sent up in the course of the tournament was played by Martin, third for A. N. Smith, Dunedin, in a game against Craw. A toucher belonging to tho local players was lying near the kitty. Canterbury played, and trailed kitty into the diteli, and lay a few inches from it. The odds seemed all in favour of Canterbury scoring, but Martin played up to the local toucher, and sent it into the ditch between kitty and the other toucher.

D.ivies (West End, Timaru) r<nd Gray (Kelburn), in Section A, maintained their unbeaten record, and each have now six wins to their credit. Tonkin (North-East Valley) had a very easy win against Stevenson (Hokitika). He led by 20 to 4 on the tenth head, and bad no difficulty in holding his lead. Thomas (British party) went down to Yorkliill (Hawera). The game was even up to the 20th head, but tho Hawera man then established a strong lead. Thomas also failed in his game against iGray (Kelburn), who on the last end scored 7, and put the issue beyond doubt. Stevenson and Orchard (Christchurch) had a close contest, the former finishing 5 up. McCurdy (St. Kilrla, scored his sixth win by defeating Ainger (Christchurch) by 24 to 14. Graham (Gore) suffered his first defeat at the hands of Smellie (Green Island), who established a good lead, which his opponent failed to overhaul. Gibson (Taieri) had little difficulty in defeating Monk (Kaiapoi), the latter being quite outclassed, retiring at the 20t'n bead with the score 33-9 against him. Harraway (Dunedin) kept bis unbeaten record intact. Playing against Rennie (Christchurch), he won by 30 to 20 on the 24th head. Wright (British party had an even game against Findlay (Mt. Eden) to the 14th head, but the Aucklanders then forged ahead and won by 28 to 18. Wright opened well against Harraway, leading 8-2 on the 7th head. Harraway then challenged stronglv, and at. tho 19th head led 17-11. At the"2oth head Wright was only two points down, but the Dunedin men ultimately won 26-22. Fleming (British party) went down badly to Beazley (Otago), and at no time displayed winning form. ■ In the game between Walker '(Auckland) and Falconer (Otago) the contest was very even, and the issue was not decided till the last head. Fhlconer led 22-21 with one head to go. Aucklanders got two on the last head, and won by one point. Malcolm (Balmacewan) had much the better of the game against Bentley, and led throughout, to .win decisively. McGregor (Kaikorai) and Crawford (British party) provided an interesting contest, there being only a few points between them throughout the gamp.
