JAMMED IN THE ICE.

The Hessen has failed to release the vessel, and lias returned to Revel. The Russian ice-breakers, which are the most powerful in the world, also failed, but the crews of the ice-Eound vessels are now supplied with food.
[Twenty-five vessels are jammed in the ice near Hogland, in the Gulf of Finland. The German Government sent, the heavy battleship Hessen with an ice-breaker, to smash a way through to the vessels. Two German steamers were sunk by the ice, and two more were endangered, while doubt was expressed whether it would be possible to save the crew.]
