TRAMWAYMEN*S DEMANDS. The Tramway Employees' Union has taken steps to secure a new award and, according to the report submitted to the Tramway Board yesterday-by the Works and Traffic Committee, the Union's demands, if granted, will iiycolvo the Board in additional expenditure of over £20,000. The report, which was received, was as follows: The present award will expire on December 31st. The union has submitted proposals for a new award. The wages and holiday clauses would mean the following increases:— Per annum £ Motormen and conductors ..
