FLOWER SHOW.

AKAROA HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY. Tho annual Rose .Show of the Akaroa Horticultural Society was held on Friday. In spite of the somewhat -unfavourable climatic conditions of the past few weeks, and more particularly of the boisterious southerly storm of the previous day, there was a very fine display of flowers, the blooms in many cases being well up to Akaroa'a standard of excellence. The show was well attended, both in the afternoon and the evening. Maßter Robbie Munro took the pTlzn lor the "Best Rose" in the show with a bloom that was indeed well, worth noting. He scored also most points in the rose section, and thus won the handsome Challenge Rose Bowl presented by Messrs Mason, Struthere and Co., and also the special prize given by the president, Mr Geoi Armstrong.
