Terrible north-easterly gales struck tho East Coast, accompanied by heavy falls of snow. A Scottish drifter foundered at Flamborough Head. A lifeboat was launched, but failed to save the eight persons aboard. Eight others -were drowned at Redear, where a- small motor-ship was driven on the rocks in sight of a bis crowd ashore.
A number of other casualties are reported.
