RESTORING ORDER IN SYRIA. (BY CA3LIB—FRSSS ASSOCUTIOK—COPIKOHT.) (RKUTBB'S XtUtOMAUa.) (Received November 26th, 7.20 p.m.) PARIS, November 25. Advices from Beirut state that martial law has been proclaimed in tho towns of Damascus and Hauran, owing to continued brigandage. It is officially explained that tho proclamation of martial law does not in any waydenote aggravation of tho situation. It has been proclaimed with a view to tho rapid restoration of order.
REBELS' ULTIMATUM. (XIUTU's TILIOEiHS.) BEIRUT, November 25. Tho Druses' leader, EI Atrash, has issued a manifesto declaring that tho Druses will not accept anything less than complete independence.
