75TH ANNIVERSARY.

CELEBRATION PLANS. Some of the surviving j>assengers by the six ships which brought the Canterbury pilgrims to Lyttelton, who desire to take part in the celebrations on December 12th, of th© 75th anniversary of tho founding of tho province aro in doubt as to whether tho Celebrations Committee intend sending cars to their addresses to pick them up. In some cases, on account of tho disabilities of ago, they will require some relativo to accompany them, and they are anxious to know if this can be done. Mr G. L. Donaldson, the secretary ol the Celebrations Committee, to whom both these points were submitted, told a reporter yesterday that cars will bo sent to tho addresses of surviving passengers who have notified him of their intention to take part in the celebrations, but the committee . could not undertake to send cars on the offchanoo. To date comparatively few of the surviving passengers have notified Mr Donaldson) of their intention to ho present and he will be glad if they, or someone on their behalf, will let him know as soon as possible. As to the second matter, Mr Donaldson stated that most certainly a relative could accompany a surviving passenger. As the Celebrations Committee desires to complete the arrangements for tho procession o n the afternoon of Deoem'ber 12th, the secretary, Mr G. L. Donaldson, will lie glad if all firms who intend making displays will communicate with him as s?on as possible.
