THE EXHIBITION.
GOVERNOR-GENERAL IMPRESSED. (PEESS ASSOCIATION TELEGIUM.) DFXEDTN, November 26. To-day tho feature of tho New Zealand and South >S«us Exhibition was tho visit by tho Governor-General and Lady Alice Fergusson and Miss Orr Ewing to tho great New Zealand secondary industries pavilion. The manufacturers' pavilion is the largest of all the Exhibition's huge buildings, three acres being under one noof, and 150 firms aro taking part in the display which, if organised by itself in any New Zealand city, would create a. great stir. Before inspecting the display, which was organised 'by the D.unedin Manufacturers' Association, his Excellency said ho had been greatly impressed with what he had seen of New Zealand goods, but after he had competed the tour he said ho had utterly failed to realise tho extent, the variety, and tho high quality of the goods made in the .Dominion. He liad seeh goods displayed which ho liad r.ever droamed could bo made in the Dominion. His Excellency was so interested in the display that ho spent an hour in the pavilion, and his visits to other features of tho Exhibition had to bo postponed. Ho managed to look oyer tho aquarium, whijeh contains most interesting tanks of fresh water fish, and magnificent hunting trophies and stuffed specimens of New Zealand game.
The Governor-General was entertained afc tea by the Manufacturers' Committee, and as 'a memento of his visit he was presented with a NewZealand made nig, and Lady Fergusson and Miss Orr Ewing with caskets of New Zealand made confectionery.
