FARMERS' UNION.
CUST-WEST EYRETON BRANCH. At the monthly meeting of the Cust-West Eyreton branch of the harmers' Union Mr S. Smith occupied the chair. . Correspondence was read from the- Prime 'Minister in reply to the Union's letter about tho maritime strike. The chief business was a discussion on "The "Wheat, Position." *lhis was introduced by the reading of correspondence from the Hon. TV. Xosworthy (Minister of Agriculture) and the South _ Canterbury Farmers' Union. A long discussion followed, after which the following • motions were carried: — . . (1) That this branch affirms the principle of control and guaranteed prices for all classes of wheat. (2) That this branch is of opinion that thcra choiiM be a monthly increment of Jd per bushel, commencing on March 31st. (3) That this branch recommends that arrangements of prices for 1926-27 crop should be completed immediately to allow time for the preparation of land.
